For the global company that operates in different environments the height of those barriers is a product of the history of that environment (i.e. cultural, regulatory, available infrastructure, consumer expectation). However more collaboration and agility are likely to be strategic element in all expanding supply chains but to a variation in degree. Globalisation is both the catalyst and product of modern supply chain practice.
