I think that Forester’s original purpose of this story is to show us all how much we can be held back, and what experiences or friendships we miss out on, when we judge someone based on what other people tell us about them. When we refuse to accept someone because of cultural differences, we all miss out. This book delivers a very important and powerful message in the shell of a story that exemplifies why we need to take the message to heart.
