The Bible is the most influential book ever written. The Bible consists of two main divisions, the New and the Old Testaments. If the main idea of The Bible were to be described in two words, those would be loyalty and forgiveness. Throughout the Old Testament are people larger than life whose moral characters are straight and upright. These men helped shape our values, morals, religion, and decisions.

These differences between Western and Eastern religion can be spotted quite easily. Firstly, The Bible focuses on devotion to God as a spiritual being while Eastern religions (such as Buddhism which is the subject of Siddhartha) devotion is focused on oneself. These differences are subtle influences on the difference of Western and Eastern psychology. However, that is a different topic so focus will not be put on that.
