Arabic life in many ways may seem very unorthodox to the average American. But what may seem abnormal to us as Americans is perfectly normal for a member of an Arabic society. This has to do mainly with a culture’s social structure. Social structure is the way people have been brought up to do things in everyday life, and determines what is acceptable and unacceptable behavior in their society or culture. So we must always remember to be open-minded and not to judge things as we first see them. But instead, take the time to find out why they act this way and what beliefs constitute such seemingly strange behavior. And in doing this, it would not only help us to better understand other cultures, but it would also make the world a more comfortable and pleasant place to live.
