Being an American

Being an American can mean many different things to many different people. To some it might mean that they have to be a patriot or be able to shoe their individualism. To others it may just mean to be loyal to your country. Over the year we have studied many different ideas that go along with what it means to be an American. …Over the years America has gone through many troubling times like Vietnam, the Great Depression, and the civil rights movement. No matter what the country has been through the people still kept faith in it. Many gave up privileges or even their lives to make the future better for others. To being an American means doing all of these things including sacrificing your life. These are the things that being an American mean to me.
