Buddhists believe that we have a specific problem as human beings. How ever they also offer a very specific answer to what this problem is and what we can do to fix the problem. Buddhism is expressed in the four noble truths, which offer us a clear route to salvation and nirvana. Nirvana is believed to be salvation a release from suffering as human beings, which can be reached by following the 8-fold path. Thus is seems that Nirvana simply results in a complete desensitization to what makes us human. Nirvana is not salvation; freeing oneself from all of the capacities that makes us human doesn’t appear to be enlightenment at all, but rather a state of not being any thing. Reaching a state of nirvana will only allow a person to become removed from life itself.
