…as it did the New Englanders. Religion was the greatest motivation for the north, and fortune was the biggest cause for colonization in the south. It is interesting to see, when looking back at history, that by as early as the 17th century the north and south already had a rivalry of sorts going. Both regions were made up of colonies that were very different from eachother.But all were affected by the same entities.
