Comparison of Hester and John

Hester Prynne from The Scarlet Letter and John Proctor from The Crucible might not have been similar physically, but they shared the same attributes and feelings towards things that effected their reputations. The comparisons have been made and the ideas have been put forth, and it is easy to see how Hester Prynne and John Procter were comparable in their beliefs. These strong beliefs brought them both tragedy and loss, but they remained strong and loyal to what mattered most to them. Even though the characters were from two different novels written by different authors, they shared many similarities.
