Cuban Missile Crisis

On October 22, 1962, after reviewing newly acquired intelligence, President John F. Kennedy Informed the world that the soviet Union was building a secret missile base in Cuba. Cuba is only 90 miles off the coast of southern Florida. After reviewing many different options Kennedy decided on a response. The Russian Premier Nakita S. Castro then got the message and soon became convinced that the U.S was serious about invading Cuba. Khrushchev eagerly extended an offer of assistance to the Cuban general.
