Life is full of mysteries and surprises. No one can predict what is going to happen in his or her life tomorrow. When I first moved to California from Hong Kong at the age of 10, I had no idea what to expect. All I knew back then was that California has good weather, bright sunshine, nice beaches, and people that like to surf. Besides that, I had no idea what it was like to live …

…it is from what I had expected before I came here. I would never imagine some of these things that occur in America. After living in California for 7 years, I have changed physically and mentally. I have increased my knowledge by learning more about other cultures and I have a different point of view in life. But the most important thing that I learned through this experience is how to adapt to a new environment.
