Does Gender Affect Our Destiny

Although remembering all the events that occurred between the time my mother and father got divorced, in 1986, to the present time is quite difficult, there is nothing that could make me forget my mother's strength and determination throughout the years that I lived with her. …and most of all, I love her for all the wonderful things she has done for my sister and me. I thank her everyday for teaching me to be strong, and to reach for my dreams. My mother defied our society's gender roles and proved that her destiny as a woman was certainly not pre-determined. She is my strength and I will always remember her advice, and will use it, as I become an adult.
