Dune is an excellent novel for science fiction lovers. Paul, the son of Duke Leto of House Atreides, has been living a life of preparation, but he does not know why he has been training. Arrakis is a desert planet useful to the empire for only one thing: the spice. The spice is a remarkable substance that has properties that can be used for virtually anything.
