Satan in the garden of Eden, Macbeth weighs the choices he has at hand, and consumed by lust makes the wrong choices; yet, he cannot turn back the hand of fate, and must live through the consequences of his actions. The tragedy that occurs in Macbeth, is that he succumbs to the evil that be, like Eve in the Garden of Eden; thereby, Macbeth secures his place of eternal damnation in hell. Instead of triumphing over evil temptation, Macbeth is engulfed and devoured by it.
