If one were simply respected for who he is, rather than what he has or does, much of the problems surrounding this controversy would then be eliminated. The tradition of female circumcision is kept alive out of fear by the woman and out of the selfishness festered in the men, a reason that does not justify the suffering of each woman unfortunate enough to have experienced this awful act.
