Beginning with the disputed presidential election of 1824, political dominance by the Revolutionary generation came to an end. The American people passed the torch to a generation of Americans who either experienced the Revolution as children or were born in the first years of independence. …stray from their roles as guardians on more then one occasion between the 1820and 30s by allowing the racism and prejudice. Although I do agree with the Jacksonian beliefs, I do think some of their actions were horrible. They strived to make the country better for white men, just imagine what could have been accomplished if they had also tried for women and ethnicities. So the torch was passed from one generation to the next.
