Media Coursework Media I am comparing two different versions of Charles Dickens, "A Christmas Carol", the 1951 version staring Alistair Sim and the 2000 version staring Ross Kemp. Nowadays the Alistair Sim version will appeal to the older audience. The Ross Kemp version will appeal to a wider and more modern audience. Setting The Alistair Sim version is set in London. The main setting is in Scrooge's house and in Scrooge's bedroom. This is the main setting
everyone. It is modern, humorous and represents what Christmas is like for most people nowadays. All these elements make it appealing and enjoyable to any viewer. I prefer the Ross Kemp version because of the more modern features and better quality humour. I also think that after reading the book I knew what was going to happen next in the 1951 version as in the 2000 version I didn't and also didn't know what to expect next.
