She is constantly comfort eating, which makes her feel even more valueless. Her son, Harold, a character I will look at later in this essay, is relentlessly stealing her one luxury, the TV, to feed his drug habit, and Sarah dutifully allows him to, then goes to the pawn shop to buy it back.
