…than scrape the dirt off of disreputable politics' shoes, journalism in the beginnings of the 1900's was a tough job! The nation was emerging out of modesty with new fashions and technology, but it was a major culture shock to the people who had never spoke of their own president in an even unpleasant way before. Respect for others was deminished in order to protect the well being of the population of the United States.
