Murders in the Rue Morgue, Plot Summary

…that of a wild animal, and the agility needed to enter a fourth floor apartment could easily be accomplished by an ape. Through another clever move by the detective, the owner of the ape, a gruff-voiced Frenchman, visits the two men at their home where he illustrates the events that led to the brutal murders. At last, the mystery is solved; the escaped beast is apprehended, and the wrongly accused LeBon, is released from jail.
