Nationalism - South America, Germany, and other examples

Nationalism is loyalty towards your country and the people who you share it with. Especially during the 19th century in Latin America is was a collective state of mind where people wanted to be loyal to their culture and home rather then a king or emperor. By 1871 Germany was united and became an empire with their emperor as Kaiser Wilhelm I. Otto von Bismarck used the force of nationalism by winning wars and increasing people confidence in him. His strong desire to unite German turned Germany into an empire.
