The Social Movement:
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals
Social movements as defined by James M. Henslin, are "large numbers of people who organize to promote or resist social change" (398). Keeping this definition in mind one group is immediately thought of, (PETA) People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. PETA is an international non-profit organization based in Norfolk, VA that is dedicated to establishing and protecting the rights of all animals.

showed last 85 words of 645 total the PETA to bring to their campuses. However I don’t feel as though I would ever be inclined to join the PETA even though I do support ,animal rights. After reading many of the articles on their website I have found the PETA to be an extremeist group where the majority of the members are vegans which means they eat no animal products at all. There is a difference between killing animals cruelly and killing animals to continue the cycle of the food chain.
