Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush The Gold Rush is a classic Chaplin film. The film takes place during the gold rush, the recurring hero type “the Tramp” tries his hand at mining. There are the ups and downs as well as a female love interest, all those components expected of Chaplin film. The only difference between this film and the other adventures of the tramp was the ending. showed last 85 words of 569 total…Tramp is new to this environment and isn’t sure how to react or even hot to act. One of the funniest things about this film was its use of props to make up for the lack of dialogue. When the Tramp pulls out a sheet of paper labeled with the four cardinal points and then follows the sheet directions as if it where a compass. This as well as the boot scene were very funny and served to develop the character of the Tramp.
