Richard Cory:Poverty within Wealth

…Cory is a failure because his suicide puts an end to his chance for his redemption. He does not experience the inner change to render less severe the general condemnation against him, in his case, a spiritual realization and the appreciation for his excessive position. Although he is rich outside, he is poverty-stricken in his soul. His imprudent behavior of ending his life because of his ignorance only proves what a wasted life he lived.
