…my heritage, I began to notice all the small details in my synagogue and how they are replicas of the old synagogues of Syria. I recognized how my community is trying to preserve the Syrian costumes and traditions. These observations gave me a feeling of unity, a feeling of bonding with my great-grandparents who I never knew and all my ancestors who came before me. And yes, a feeling of safety and trust as well.
