2001: A Space Odyssey is about a man fighting against a deadly computer on his way to the next step in the human race. This story takes place from 2001 to 2003 and on the Earth, the Moon, and space. The main character is David Bowman, an astronaut trained in many different fields of space. The antagonist is the HAL 9000, an artificially intelligent computer. …The writing is mostly descriptive paragraphs, but some areas are solid conversation. An ominous tone is present, and the mood ranges from suspense to excitement to awe. I think that "2001: A Space Odyssey" is a well written book that conveys the author's point effectively. I think the book was written to learn a general truth about life. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes science fiction and is interested in life beyond Earth.
