Tenochtitlan: Foundations of the Aztec Empire

The Aztecs were the last great empire of the native people of Mexico. They had an amazing society that was destroyed and almost lost. Tenochtitlan was one of the most amazing cities in existence during its time, and definitely one of the largest. I would have loved to see Tenochtitlan as it was during the Conquest of Mexico. We are lucky to still have parts of the Templo Mayor and Tenochtitlan around today to learn more about this amazing culture of which most of their history and cultural backgrounds have been lost. Without great discoveries like the Templo Mayor, we may not know what we know today about one of the greatest Mesoamerican cultures ever.
