"The Catcher in the Rye" by: J.D. Salinger
SYOPSIS The Catcher in the Rye takes place mostly in New York. The protagonist, Holden Caulfield, finds himself in a chain of events while he is running away from his home that all end up to his isolation from the world. Time after time he finds himself abandoned by the people he believed in most, he comes closer to his fate. Even his English teacher, Mr. Antolini, the man he confided in most, let him
mothers cry fake tears in movies. Holden Caulfield is totally disgusted at the phonies of people the world. Through Holden, Salinger is trying to make the reader see the need for honesty and integrity in the modern world. I really recommend this book. It is just so easy to read and relate to. When you finish, you feel like reading it one more time. The author truly speaks and thinks like the main character Holder.
