She is the girlfriend of Michael who once did not know anything about the Family. But through her conversation with Michael at the wedding and through the rest of her experiences in the film, she is exposed to the Mafia criminal life. Through this film, the viewer is able to receive a clear study on violence, power, honor, corruption, and justice.
