The Great Gatsby Dream
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald is a novel that proves the American Dream if in the wrong hands is not a dream at all, it is actually a nightmare filled with filth and corruption. Fitzgerald uses his characters to show that living in the spotlight with all the fame and money that you can imagine could never add up to fulfilling the promises of the American Dream. In my analysis I will discuss
a misunderstanding only because he was mixed in with the wrong crowd. His dream was so self-involved and he wanted the girl so much that he died because of the corruption that went along with the society that he craved so much. Fitzgerald used Gatsby to show that although we may see our wants as dreams that in the end they may just be a nightmare and we might never be able to wake up.
