Treaty of Versailles Treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty signed at the end of World War 1 between Germany and the Allies. It was negotiated at the Paris Peace Conference held in Versailles, which started on the 18th of January 1919. The countries represented were; the United States, Great Britain, France, and Italy. …it was a just peace as it kept Germany weak yet strong enough to stop the spread of communism; kept the French border with Germany safe from another German attack and created the organisation, the League of Nations, which would end the chance of war throughout the world. From these reasons, extremist ran rampant in Germany and the rise of Hitler (known as the third Reich) occurred and the rest they say is History (WW2).
