America’s Favorite Doll
A Barbie doll takes on the personality of it’s owner. Barbie in this story is
whatever the two girls want her to be. Maybe it is an inner self trying to get out or
perhaps an imitation of events that were witnessed. One can only speculate. Barbie Dolls
stand for beauty and a carefree lifestyle. They are well equipped with clothes and
accessories. The public fell to the marketing antics of what a girl should look like.

showed last 85 words of 302 total upon a bunch of Barbie at a flea market. Every Barbie style was
available. The girls did not have to wait until Christmas for a new doll. These dolls were not
perfect. Some parts were melted and some were filled with soot.
The author gave Barbie real life situations. She had feelings and problems. Barbie
became imperfect. She had problems with her roommate, boyfriend, and wardrobe.
In the end, I think the author was telling a story of her life through Barbie.
