BraveHeart is, one of Hollywood’s best films depicting the historical past of Scottish history during the thirteenth century. Actor Mel Gibson, who not only had the leading role of Sir William Wallace, but also produced and directed the film, did a great job in trying to reconstruct history as it once was. However, from having read the book William Wallace: Brave Heart by James Mackay, I found that there were many discrepancies throughout the epic film, which I believe to have lessened its credibility.

I believe that filmmakers exclude what they feel to be insignificant when in fact the information, which they choose not to include, is of the most importance. BraveHeart is, not the only historical movie Hollywood have reenacted, and I am sure there will be many more to come. However, it is only right that writers and producers include the facts in order to make the story more appeasing rather than, showing the audience what they think we want to see.
