King Alcinous makes a great example of being a hospitable host for his people by bringing Odysseus into his home. By the Phaeacians welcoming Odysseus, they prove themselves as civilized and outstandingly kind people. Without their hospitable manner Odysseus would have never completed his journey as he did.
