In April, some of you may have caught the story in the ~Montreal Gazette about an international study of environmental performance in 52 countries.
The conclusion about Canada was: "The picture that emerges is of a nation who consume as much as four times the level that is environmentally sustainable."
Of course, one didn't need an international study to know this. The evidence is everywhere. While there have been some victories, there is little to indicate any signs of real change - whether it is the mountains showed first 85 words of 740 total

Closing the Loop
Recycling takes on it's full meaning when we close the loop and buy products containing recycled content. Filling your Blue Box is only half the task; the other half is buying products that come out of your Blue Box. Make yourself aware of the choices available when you visit the supermarket or office-supply store. Most household paper needs, for instance, can easily be satisfied using recycled material. The higher the recycled content in our purchases, the better.
