For every experiment there will always be a margin of error due to human, mechanical and procedure errors. In this experiment there could have been errors in reading the balance and burette. The actual yield was obtained by subtracting the mass of the evaporating dish (42.43g) from the mass of the evaporating + zinc chloride resulting in an actual yield of 2.01g of zinc chloride.
