I believe that money does have a corrupting influence on sports today. The effects have implications for our society in that it affects child-rearing, family values, the legitimacy of our educational processes, politics and taxes. …to Fargo, N.D. Maybe Alex Rodugiez have to settle for $25 million over 10 years instead of $ million (plus the tents). Maybe the Yankee Franchise would be valued at $75 million instead of $750. And maybe the family man could take his family to an afternoon game for less than $50. Yeah, I know, I’m dreaming. But, as Mike Lupica reminds, there’s a lot more of us (fans) than there are of them (owners, players, and coaches).
