Aerodynamics
AERODYNAMICS Aerodynamics is a branch of fluid mechanics that deals with the motion of air and other gaseous things, and with the forces acting on objects in motion relative to such fluids. Some examples of aerodynamic action are an airplane gliding through the air or a windmill spinning. Two of the fundamental forces of aerodynamics are lift and drag. Lift is what pushes things up. For instance on an airplane the front of the wing
to the speed of sound times one. When an object reaches this speed, shock waves affect it and cause disturbances In the craft. The most aerodynamic shape for an aircraft Is the tear drop shape which is round and big at the end with a tail at the front, much like a tadpole. You don’t see that very much because it is uneconomical. Those are my basics of aerodynamics. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ **Bibliography** encarta encyclopedia 96 microsoft
