The remains of Paul Baumer’s company had moved behind the German front lines for a short rest at the beginning of the novel. the main character, played a role of a realistic, hard worker, and an achiever. Their physical actions and mental ideals coincided very closely. This book was simply given me new views of war. It really made me have a new outlook on the war. It made the reader really understand how hard the war was, and the effect it had on all of the men in the war. It was an incredible book to read.
