…he blames them for his failure to become and remain King (Costa). Throughout The Tragedy of Macbeth, Macbeth’s desire was to become King, even if it meant harming or killing people in front of him. He and Lady Macbeth went through several obstacles with their conscience getting in their way. Their ambition for Macbeth to become King led to many horrible deaths and in the end Macbeth and Lady Macbeth died with guilty consciences.
