Andrew Croswell

In 1766, Andrew Croswell authored “Free Forgiveness of Spiritual Debts”. It was printed by McAlpine on Boston’s Marlborough Street. During that period of time many chaotic events resulted in the Colonial opposition to Great Britain. …searching for something to keep them grounded. Overall, this document pretty much goes along with the other writings at that time. It was a proposal of Gods overwhelming grace and forgiveness. Croswell states “God is infinitely just: and one would think this tremendous attribute would oblige him to punish our sins, no, but it obliges him to forgive us out sins.” This quote sums up what the entire document was saying about God’s mercy.
