Equality believed that he was born under a curse that made him different. This curse caused him to be unlike his brothers, making him a misfit in the Anthem society. When Equality was a child he did not look like his brothers. He was taller than his brothers (p. 18, pg. 2). While in the Home of the Infants Equality fought with his brothers. He was locked in the cellar the most for this offense (p. 20, pg. 3).
pg. 3). But this didn't stop his life Equality was able to excel in school. He excelled so much that he was considered superior to his brothers (p. 21, pg. 4). Equality was not able to let rejection stop him. His invention of light was rejected, but he was able to hold his head high and take from the experience and new understanding (p 76, p 6). Equality shows great American leadership potential from his actions shown thought his life.
