Antigone and Savage Garden

The themes expressed in the song “Break Me Shake Me” by Savage Garden bear an uncanny resemblance to those expressed in the Sophocles play “Antigone.” Both pieces of work attempt to throw us into the sheer chaos caused by the abuse of power. …to see it? A part of me realized that games may be fun, but they’re no substitute for friends. I felt better about myself upon realizing this. And even though my neighbor’s kid stuck a “Goober Grape” Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich in the cartridge slot a week later, I still feel like I made the right choice. Thankfully for me, unlike Creon, I realized my mistake before it was much too late.
