…by this time, Asians were finally able to become more or less accepted as Americans. Discrimination against Asians in American culture took many forms and persisted for a long time in practice, through literature and popular culture, through laws and finally through general public sentiment. Asians were viewed as the “undesirables” and only a century after arriving on the American soil were Asians able to become truly American, to finally be accepted as our own.
