Beowulf
The epic poem Beowulf tells the deeds of the hero Beowulf who, according to the author, “his hand-grip has thirty man’s strength”(line 287). Beowulf is from Sweden and has come to Denmark to kill a creature named Grendel. This creature has been tormenting the people of Denmark for 12 years until Beowulf hears about it. It takes place in Anglo-Saxon times in the countries of Denmark and Sweden. There are three battles that take place
to use it properly. In all three battles he was basically without a weapon other than his hands. When Beowulf slays the dragon a curse is laid upon his people for upsetting the flow of nature. This pretty much dooms them for a not at all prosperous future. They were doing fine until that thirteenth thane went and stole the flagon. This is precisely why man should leave nature to flow on its own course.
