The Ultimate Waning of Innocence We all enter into this life wide-eyed and idealistic. Each day we interact, learn, and experience what life has to offer. At some point, these experiences seep into our being and transform us from the innocent babe of childhood into a supposedly “mature” adult. What causes this theft of innocence? …telling us that innocence is a beautiful thing that is to be relished and enjoyed, but it ultimately must draw to an end. Even though this loss is inevitable, we can take solace in the belief that our experiences will lead us full circle to a greater appreciation of innocence itself. So even though these two ideas are contrary states within the soul, they lead us to something bigger than either idea can individual encompass.
