Booker T. Washing vs. W.E.B Dubois
Booker T. Washington and W.E.B DuBois were both great men who accomplished amazing things to help the civil rights movement during the period of 1877 to 1915. Washington believed that in order to achieve equality with white people, they needed to prove that they are able to by getting practical jobs. DuBois believed that they needed higher education and to make their voice be heard in order to achieve equality. Both had the same goal
much time arguing and proving the other wrong. Because of that, they ignored many of the tasks at hand. (Doc. I) They wanted so much to improve life in the future, that they ignored the present. It takes many years for change to come and it isn’t until 1954 that schools become integrated and not until 1964 when the Civil Rights Act is passed and Jim Crow laws are outlawed many years after both men lived.
