In the beginning and throughout most of the movie, there is very little reference that these two characters have anything in common. …say he had his life taken away from him. When that baseball hit the Seer’s head, the Doc lost his future career in the sport; he lost his pride and couldn’t return to the game. So in the end of the movie it comes out that the two have something in common, they are just trying to live their lives without recalling what happened in the past, but it never really stays there.
