Greek Mythology, Destiny and Fortune’s Wheel in the Canterbury Tales The Canterbury Tales, written by Geoffry Chaucer, are pieces of literature that contain an accumulation of a motley set of belief systems. The beliefs that appear in "The Knight’s Tale", "The Wife of Baths Tale" and "The Pardoner’s Tale", consist of Greek Mythology, Destiny and the Bible. In the beginning of "The Knight’s Tale", the story starts with two ancient Greek
to the Gods because they believed that the God’s knew the future of everyone, therefore people believed in destiny. Along with destiny was fortunes wheel, or "Lady’s Luck". Which is very similar to destiny, in that they are both pre-planned, and what happens is to be accepted. Each one of these links with the other and has a role in day to day living, therefore creating a society and a way of life.
