In conclusion, Heller uses many different techniques, from story structure to graphic violent details and interweaving the truth of what was happening with the myths, to help bring the truth to the surface. He shows the government’s distortion of the idea of capitalism which helped hide the horror that was the unfortunate truth in World War II. By writing this novel Heller helps history become more accurately understood.
