Catcher in the Rye

In his novel The Catcher in the Rye, J.D. Salinger writes about the transition of changing from a child to an adult by describing the feelings of Holden Caulfield. …he is one himself, he is not sure what to do with his life, and he is not a very compatible person. He goes through a lot of really tough situations for a kid his age, but I guess it takes the few really rough nights he spent in New York alone to realize what he really needs to do. He has to face reality, go home to his parents, and start acting his age.
